Sorry guys but wtf... and I say again W T F !!!!

I mean come on!!! I am pulling my hair here!!! where are we going.

My time to upgrade my rig has finally come :D
I finished my Uni, I did a year in the army, of which nine months of it was in the turkish borders.
I finally get my freedom back, got myself a new job that pays ok so what do I do? plan my long waited pc upgrade.

I allready have my 22" tft, my GTX, a nice case, a double watercooling system, and the list goes on... but what is missing..? yeah!!u guessed it allright!!!

a second GTX and a descent mobo.. I say again... a DESCENT MMOOOBBBOOO!!
come on... nVidia snap out... everybody likes you...
we like ** budge... we like ** green color... we get happy everytime we see it when a game loads!!
we love ** graphic cards.. years now!!

Cant you please give us something descent to put them on..?
something to squeeze every little frame from them?

I 'll give you watts.. 1200 of them :D I'll even give you water to cool you down...but please GIVE ME A MOBOOOO

pls don't get me wrong... it is most likely brainwash damage from the army..
but if u get me, feel free to comment any way you like...

...bye now... cant take any more of this

If you're that desperate for SLI, get a GX2. Less hassle. Personally, I'd avoid it like the plague and make do with the more than ample card you've got until NVidia get their posteriors in gear and release a worthy upgrade.

/trademark SLI bashing off :D

James.. easy now... that was a hit under the belt :p

go0ing to a 24" isnt really worth it... unless if a sell this one and just cover the diff.
something that is deff. not gonna happen easily any time soon.

going to a 27" now that is something to talk about... ..but still... i would love an sli first

Quad core... no... I am just getting a E8400 and I might get an extra 4gig mem next week(still thinking about it)

ddr3 no again... i prefer the size than the speed(which is about the same in a way..)

GX2 well that is a capital NOOOO
never liked that idea... besides I am watercooling.. go find a block for them... no no no

anyways... thanks for reading my cry of frastration
hope after the summer a descent 780i hits the shelf

later all.. ;) need my gaming therapy now :D

trust me, it's worth it. i went from a 22" dell to a 24", the difference is far bigger than that 2 inches would have you believe. 1680x1050 doesnt stretch a GTX, but 1920x1200 does...or at least starts to. sli isnt a need @ 1680x1050, believe me.

Going to 24" would be worth it as its 1920x1200 where as your 22" aint.

You still dont need SLI for that RES on all but 1 buggy game so far.

Buy a new Monitor of your choice, then when you struggle buy a 2nd card or a Next Gen when they arrive.

hmm... u guys got me thinking...
u see I am finally going to c2d this week... so then I 'll see the full potential of GTX
my old 3800X2 doesn't cut it anymore, but something tell me 1680 does silently ask for a second GTX, just so you can max out all games.

now spending the money for the 24... mmm noo I dont think I have the urge for that..
pretty happy with my 22"
it fits 2 A4 pages perfectly and it's great when I do english translations, keeping both the original and the translated text side by side.

as about buggy games.. u wont believe this but the first that made me drop a res so i can get descent gameplay was NFS prostreet (jesus!!!!)

and I havent even try crysis... something tells me I am goona cry there :(

so... it makes more sense to me to first get the 2nd GTX and then a bigger monitor

anyways... lets see where maturity will take the 7series of chipsets and hope for the best. Afterall a good foundation is fundamental in all things in life ;)

and by the way.. psychas.. no it sucks... trust me...

24" mmm, HMI mmm, 10000 contrast mmm, 500Eyros mmm, got me thinking now guys.

I got my 225BW for 430Euros and now u can get the 245B for 407

how much do you think my 22 can fetch...?
200 -> 230... sounds reasonable..
what do yoy think guys...?

Need for Speed Pro Street is a POS and with the Patch applied the FPS are capped to 30.

It STILL makes no sence for you to buy a 2nd card, esp now it will be a 1.6+Year old GTX.

Get your CPU issue sorted if you feel the need to go CD2, then get a bigger Monitor if you still want to game at higher RES and worry about a 2nd GPU or Next Gen after that if its struggles, ignoring that 1 game I mentioned and badly coded console ports.

I've avoided SLI etc like the plague for years. I am sure people were messing with it years ago in the days of VooDoo cards. Watching forums like this over the years people tnd to use it, have problems and in the end can't be bothered. IMHO you are just asking for software problems with games if you spend your money on this. Video cards are so powerful these days why not just buy the best cost effective card (ie not 50% extra money for 10% extra performance at the premium end of the market), get the best screen that card can easily handle, and review every year.

Stability is better than trying to force your system to use a bigger screen than current technology is really ready for.

The problems with SLI are mostly end user tbh - even a lot of reviewers who should know better don't seem to be able to get to grips with it :(

It does need a bit of playing around to get results - but I've never had an SLI related crash over 3 different SLI systems - and can get atleast a +70% performance boost and often almost double fps in most games and benchmarks when I'm not limited by other factors such as CPU.

Only game I've had any SLI related issues with was COD4 - this wasn't an SLI issue as such - but the second card was sharing an IRQ with too many other system components - didn't have any impact in all other games but in COD4 and when using FRAPS (any game) it would end up stuttering to a halt when things got busy.

Forget SLI, it scales miserably unless you're using 3D mark which isn't even a game... yet. You have a decent card, tbh I'd stick with it until the GPU companies new architechture is released.

I've had 3 carnations of SLI now and always found SLI to be little to no headache, there have been the odd games that havent fully supported it and when i made the switch to vista it was a bit painfull but nothing i didnt expect.

I would bet half the people here that slate SLI haven't had first hand experience of it, the support is a lot better than its been in the past and i would bet its only going to get better as it doesn't appear to be disappearing.

Personally i am very happy with the results on a 30" monitor.

What are games like at the 1920x1200 res? Crysis, HL2, Cod4, etc.?

Cheers ;)

with a gtx...brilliant lol. a gtx will rip through HL2 with the cinematic mod 7.0 (20gb expansion pack, needs 3gb of ram minimium) at 1920x1200 / 2xfsaa. cod4 is perfectly playable with 2x/4xfsaa but you can get some slowdown in dense areas with a lot of players/fog. crysis is awful but thats crysis for you lol
