Thinking about getting a new motherboard with SLI, I have a Palit 9800gt 1gb card and was wondering if I need to get exactly the same card or would any 9800gt 1gb do? (like one of those green edition ones)

Nvidia sli boards particularly s775 can be a pain, theyre poor clockers with 65nm quads, they dont support 45nm quads, however they can be good boards with dual core cpu's, the exception is the 790i, but this board needs ddr3 ram, but it will run ok with quads or duals.

EVGA 750i F.T.W. is also about as good as it gets with nFail chipsets... struggles to provide the wattage for 65nm quads above 3gig unless you VMod it but does fine with 45nm quads out the box (3.8-4gig is fairly easy).

I am on an AM2+ board at the moment and only have a mild overclock (400mhz) but my board only has 2 ram slots and 1 pci e slot.

Was thinking of the Asus crosshair II.
