Dont completely take that link for hard evidence, but I would say to get a second 460 instead of the 480. I will wait for someone else to back me up on that but thats what I would do.

think the OP wants to remove the GTX460 from the pc main slot, put the GTX480 in its place, then add the GTX460 into another slot to use as PhysX

If I were you ring up OCUK and ask them how much it would cost to have a GTX 480 replace a GTX 460. You can not SLi a GTX 460 with a GTX 480.

Do not use the GTX 460 as a physics card or a spare it's a waste of money.

If you need a physics card then buy a second hand 8800GT :)

I would strongly suggest you try the system with just the GTX 460 - at least initially. The GTX 460 is a very fast card, and I am pretty sure you will find it more than fast enough for your gaming needs (unless you are playing at some very high resolution).

Also, may I ask what you will be needing a £170 PhysX card for? Only a small number of games use the technology properly.

Finally, are you needing all the features of Windows 7 ultimate - or do you think Home Premium will fullfill your needs?

A 480 is a fair bit faster then a 460, the 460 is a decent card, but new games always tax cards, even the latest and greatest, i still get the odd bit of framerate fluctations in dragon age origins, during big fight scenes and thats with a quad at 3.8 and a 470, so even a game a year old and not massively noted for being heavily taxing, still gets the odd flutter in big fights

Games like Crysis still tax even todays cards at high settings, i'd get a 480 and cheap second card like a 8800 or 9800 for physx, if it's really that important to you

Thx guy's..i think i'll ditch ultimate and go for Home Premium..i'll ring ocuk and see if ocuk can change the 460 for a ocuk 480 value card..i currently have a 9800gt in my old rig now so i guess by the sounds of things i could if needed use that fo SLi if required ;)
