Sliced Bread - How long do you keep it for?

I'm talking about regular supermarket plastic-wrapped sliced bread (like hovis/warburtons/kingsmill etc) - not the 'freshly baked' stuff.

How long would you be happy to keep it for and use it for sandwiches? (not including freezing)


For me it's probably only 2 days max (including day of purchase). 3rd day would be toast only, then 4th = bin.

When I used to buy bread that's what I used to do.

The twisting part I can understand, but surely it's easier to tuck the excess bag under the loaf and let gravity do the work, rather than actually bothering to re-attach the yellow date label thingy?
