Hinge

I’m a bit worried about my MSI thin, it’s eight months old and there’s a slight clicking sound as in the video.

I’ve been exploring a sub-Reddit and see that MSI have problems with their hinges.

Is mine likely to fail soon? It’s not broken, the hinge is fine just that sound.

What should I do?

I would get it looked at within your warranty because over time the hinges will get stiffer and one day just snap without warning. When I worked at Dell their notebooks were notorious for snapped hinges. Always starts with creaking then moves onto stiffness before they eventually give up. Usually one will give way then the other. And the worst is, depending on the construction, it could damage the Palmrest, base, LCD back cover and bezel. Basically when they go they go big time.

Thank you, the company said that there’s no point sending the device in unless the hinge snaps so I’ll just wait until if and when that happens.
