Today I got myself a nice price on a DMRE55 and hooked it straight into my Samsung Hi-Def LCD TV via SCART (AV1 to the TV's EXT1). However, if I select 'RGB' ouput from the recorder (on AV1) all channels have a very nasty green tinge to them but the picture is perfectly normal if I set it back to output as 'video'.

It's set-up correctly, ie. the cables are connected to the relevant sockets and such and both the recorder and TV have fully compliant RGB sockets.

Now I think it's down to the SCART cable, IIRC for RGB you need a fully wired 21pin connector don't you? Does anyone know if the free SCART leads that come with AV equipment are fully wired or are they just the cheapo 'get the job done' variety?

Thanks.

Well, after trying some decent high-quality connectors, borrowed from elsewhere, the green tinge was still present. So today I took it back and swapped it for a ES10 instead.

The new ES10 works just fine, picture perfect and not a hint of green about it. Plus, as a bonus it can also record on DVD-RW something the 55 couldn't do. As for running it through the component sockets, I'm already using them. For now though, the RGB picture looks great.
