slight problem using iexplorer with drop down menu's

When using iexplorer it is almost impossible to select the 2nd level drop down menu from the list.

In the departments drop down there is a 2nd level for Science and Social subjects, but due to the space between the menu's it doesn't stay active long enough to select any of the options.

This doesn't happen in firefox but that is most likely due to the fact they menu's are rounded rather than square like in iexplorer.
