hello,
me and a freind have recently changed cases on our pc's
earlier today we had just connected both machines up and we seem to have an problem.
when we boot the pc all cables are connected etc, but when we turn our monitors on there is no display and there is a box saying no input detected on both of our machines. we have tested by changing montor cables and the montior itself.

we used our other computer which hasnt been changed in any way and that booted up as normal on the same monitors.

any help would be appreciated as we presume it may be a first time problem.

many thanks,
Rowan :)

Have you checked the graphics card is connected into the motherboard fully? Check all connections are in and secure. Do you hear any beeps when you try to boot? There is also a chance that you may have damaged one of the components when changing cases.

changed cases over very causously and made sure al connections were in and connected fully. must have checked this 2 or 3 times weve even tried switching cards over. theres no beeps on boot the computer boots up fine just no display.
one thing on my machine the card just sits about my RAM clips which is a bad design for the board i might try and boot with one or two sticks out just incase the ram is making the card no fit snug. as for the compants problem doesnt seem likely as i had it working before i moved the case to my other room. so must be a connection or card problem :( i hope not a card problem as i wont be able to get a new one for a while.

thanks a lot
Rowan :)

also this is the same problem with my friends pc he is using onboard graphics as he does not game and doesnt need a card as his onbaord is good enough - but he has the same problem (no display even when everything is conected) ive tryed my card in his pc and still no luck. is it likely we could have done the same thing or is it a seperate problem for each of us? please help as we need our machines running again because this bad spec one probs wont last long. - maybe go to computer shop later and get advice from there if i take my machine over
think they will charge me for abit of advice and the loan of a monitor in the store to explain the problem?

*EDIT* i dont know if windows boots because i have to display to view it on :(

Are you using the same monitor for testing with? If all monitors do the same thing, and you have checked all of the connections, then I think you may have static'd some of your parts. Did you make sure to ground yourself before touching the motherboard?

yes we grounded before changing boards and we have tried all of them in 3 different montors and same thing - isw it possible to have staticed the board even if i grounded myself before touching it? and is there a fix or i need a new board?

thanks for that advice ive googled the error aswell and someone has ran it on a cardboard box and it worked ill check later on if its the standoff things shorting on the board if i have put too many in, also would it run on a laminate wood flooring instead of a block of wood or should i try a box or a proper piece of wood instead of a hardwood flooring

It might be a bit hard to tell. Usually the way is to swap it with another part that you know is working (like off a friend, or other computer). I had a similar problem to yours, and it turned out that both the PSU and motherboard were faulty. Got them both replaced and works fine.

ok i dont think i can replace my things as quick if it doesnt work ill have to wait awhile until i can get a new board unless i look in the cheap zones for a cheap board the will fit everything else
