Hello,
It seems that when I load a webpage that has content on it that hasn't been cached my sound and sometimes my mouse lag a bit.
I also get disk errors - event ID 11 in my event viewer.
I did a full low level format earlier to fix some problems and make everything nice and cleane (including attempting to fix these problems) so it's nothing to do with bad sectors or anything.
Here's the event id 11:
I have replaces the SATA cable but that didn't make a difference.
It's weird, I never notice any major disk lag or major loading, freezing. Nothing. Those errors just come out for no reason, I seem to get 2 every day.
Maxtor suggested I run the Power Max tool, the drive passed all of those tests, shortly afterwards I did a low level format partly to clean up my PC and partly because that's what Maxtor suggested to fix the drive.
My main 'niggle' is when loading webpages that haven't yet been cached I get some slight sound lag which is very annoying when playing music. This could be due to me using a network card from my other PC, but I never noticed this slight lag problem when it was in my other PC.
Any ideas what I can try to fix this please?
Oh, also, I get a slow post (takes 12 seconds to post). I have tried booting without my CD-RW and CD-ROM plugged in but that didn't help, I have also had a new motherboard since (slow post on both the old motherboard and new motherboard) so it isn't that, I've kind of narrowed it down to the hard drive
--Edit--
Just glancing back at the actual event ID 11 error now & it says \Device\Harddisk0\D - could this still be my C: SATA drive? Or does this show that it isn't my main hard drive?
Thanks,
Craig.
