Right, so basically, my current rig is in my sig below.

Now, recently I've been thinking about 'future proofing' my system a bit more, to easily last me 2, maybe 3 years from now. At the time, I didn't consider options such as SLI, which seems like an oversight looking back.

So, as it stands, I'm looking to swap out my motherboard and psu for something SLI capable. As it stands, it will be SLI 460's, though give it a year and I'm sure I'll want to get something more powerful :p

As my friend is currently looking at building himself an i5 rig, I have talked to him about buying my parts off me for a bit below retail. Theyre only a couple of months old, and he seems happy with it. For both psu and mobo, we agreed on £150, provided I help him build it :)

Now, I'd like to stay below £200 ideally. I know that a better psu will cost a fair chunk more money, but hopefully it should last me for my next build too.

As it is, I was considering either the XFX Black Edition 750w, or possibly the Sapphire Pure 950w (overkill atm, yes, but as I said I'm hoping it will outlast most of my pc). As for motherboards, does anyone have any opinions on MSI boards? Namely the GD65 and GD80? Or would I be better stretching to the UD4/6?

Cheers!

Edit: I dont care about USB/Sata3 a huge amount. That may seem to contradict my 'future proof' idea, but I figure I can easily get a pci card to run both at a later date.

Would a 650w last a good while though? That's, in a way, why I'm debating getting rid of mine. I have no doubt its fine with the current system, but things could well be more power hungry in the future (glances at fermi) :p

I was thinking THIS sapphire seems good value, as all reviews state its essentially a rebranded Enermax ERV950EWT, which is nothing to complain about at £115!

+1

650W will be more than enough.
Graphic cards power draws are getting smaller as transistors and processors decrease in size as well.
