Hi guys,

I'm far out of the loop with PC parts because I became a console gamer for a while.

I'm just wondering which would be a more beneficial upgrade to my PC as it stands right now.

Currently I have:

E6300 C2D 1.86ghz @ 2.4ghz
4GB DDR2 RAM (mixed some 6400 OCZ plats & 8500 OCZ reapers)
60GB OCZ SSD VERTEX 2
8800GTS 512mb

I have been looking at the MM & seen two things that I think may make an improvement but as it stands I can only purchase one. A HD7770 Graphics card or a Q6600 CPU.

The games I play are:

Borderlands 1 & 2
Alan Wake
Warhammer Dawn of War 2
TF2
Killing Floor
Payday
Natural Selection 2
GTA 4 (don't really play this though)

The resolution for my screen is 1680x1050. Now most of those games I can play without any problems with the current setup, Just a few frame drops every now & again. Bar GTA4 of course which has to go on the absolute lowest settings.

Any help would be great.

Cheers.

considering you can pick up the q6600 for 30-50 pounds nowadays on that auction site, I'd definately get this. Instead of the 7770 on its own, or the cpu, I'd personally get a 5770 (DX11) or 4870 (more powerful but DX10) as these can be picked up for 40-50 pounds on that same site, and it would be a much better upgrade overall. The two should cost less than 100, which is cheaper than a 7770.
Good luck anyway!

Cheers for the reply :)

The 7770 is listed in the MM for £65 or the Q6600 is £45

I've had a look on that auction place for the cards/cpu's you recommended but can't seem to find them for the prices you say. More around £60+
