Slightly Confused and Puzzled, strange issues with PS5

One thing your could try to test if the tv or splitter is at fault - do you have an alternate 4k console you could try eg xbox, ps Pro, pc, laptop etc.

Also on the ps5 try turning off hdcp and hdr.
The Splitter is not at fault, and I have tried those other methods, yet it still flickers.................... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So yet again this week - yet MORE CONFUSION!!!!! I mean really, what is going on? Just two questions which are as follows.....
  1. How come on the main newer Bravia TV, when the VIRGIN MEDIA BOX, is plugged into either HDMI 1 (It's standard port that it is connected to; the TV does not flicker, neither does it if I put it into HDMI Port 2, which is the one that the PS5 is connected to?)
  2. Yet how come if I use the PS5, with the newer BRAVIA that until a couple of weeks ago was working fine, it flickers when it is using either HDMI Port 1 or HDMI Port 2?! Yet Despite the HDMI Cable and HDMI Splitter and PS5 being fine, why does the TV FLICKER?! Yet if I use the PS5 with an older Bravia TV, does the PS5 work perfectly fine with no flickering at all?!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
But then the CONFUSION THIS WEEK? Well here is what it looks like and this is what has happened?
  1. YET AGAIN FLICKERING!!!!!!!!!!! I MEAN WHAT IS GOING ON?!!!!
  2. Sometimes this week the PS5 when it has been in the standard HDMI Port 2, on the newer Bravia, it has been intermittent to say the least, the other day no problems for an hour or so, before the flickering.
  3. Then of course another day last week, with the newer bravia, 20 minutes of the PS5 working, then the TV FLICKERED AGAIN.
  4. Today.......... Not even working properly, with CONSTANT FLICKERING, and then for a minute or two, the normal PS5 Screen appeared, before the TV Was Flickering again.
  5. YET THE OLDER BRAVIA, NO FLICKERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. AND UNTIL A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, NO ISSUES AT ALL WITH THE NEWER BRAVIA, SO WHY NOW HAS IT STARTED FLICKERING?!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to check, you have you ps5 set the same with both tvs? It might be worth turning off all the 'advanced' features of the ps5 like hdr, deep colour and all that stuff (iirc they default to auto). I'm just trying the thing about differences (from a video pov) between Virgin and ps5. Does your vm box do 1080p at 50hz?

  1. The PS5 is set up with THE NEWER BRAVIA! I have also tried turning off all the "advanced features." Nothing at all, has no effect.
  2. The PS5 when I use an OLDER BRAVIA TV, which is a spare one DOES NOT FLICKER AT ALL
  3. The PS5, flickers when it is in THE NEWER BRAVIA, WHICH HAS ONLY BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS, BEFORE THAT, NOTHING AT ALL NO PROBLEMS.............
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Then perhaps the Newer Bravia is faulty?

I'm not sure commenting on your unnecessary use of "AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH" in every post is actually disability discrimination, or indeed a recognised symptom of Dementia

Actually it is not "Unnecessary" use, please educate yourself on DEMENTIA, before carrying out blantant DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION

This isn't tech support - people here help and by doing so are doing it for free and giving up their time to help you. So a bit of banter and fun, is surely expected and acceptable?

In your case - i guess not. And when things don't go your way, you escalate to advising banning?

Chill Gramps and crack a smile! *AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH!!!!*

I mean there is a lot of going forward and backwards here, its pretty much confirmed what's at fault here, its the newer Bravia TV.

Get the tv replaced/repaired under warranty, even if other devices work fine with it doesn't mean it hasn't suddenly developed a fault with certain devices. If its out of warranty perhaps phone a tv repair shop see if they can help, last resort buy a new tv.

All been said multiple times. Asking for advice and not listening to the answers or suggestions. As above I am starting to think it’s all a big wind up.

Have you tried the PS5 on a different TV that supports the features of your new TV like 4K, RGB, HDR etc ? I have heard of a PS5’s that have developed dodgy hdmi encoder chips that cause issues at higher bandwidth usages but work ok at 1080p low bandwidth uses.

I’m inclined to agree and am locking this thread. It’s ran its course and answers have been provided.

There’s nothing more to be gained here apart from bickering.
