I just got a Hisense 55U8GQTUK TV yesterday and set it up last night. I don't have Sky installed yet but I had a tinker on YouTube for 4K footage and watched some trailers and clips of things and everything looks lovely.
I have an x265 (HEVC) 2160p encoded film on my Macbook which I wanted to watch as our internet isn't installed till the weekend and I didn't want to hotspot and watch movies, so I hooked up a USB C -> HDMI cable to test on the TV. Signal came through fine in 4K and mirrored the laptop no dramas.
When watching the film however there is a noticeable stutter/judder, particularly through action/fast paced scenes which is quite off-putting and makes it jarring and distracting to watch.
Watching the file solely on my Macbook is fine but when I connect to the TV and output solely through the TV it gets a tad choppy in parts.
I thought it may be to do with some of the smoothing/motion settings which I had a play around but wasn't sure if it wasn't have much of an effect.
Is there a specific 4k file/format of film which works best with these TVs? The file format I had was a 2160p.10bit.HDR.DV.BluRay.8CH.x265.HEVC. Wouldn't mind knowing for incase I want to chuck something on USB too to play directly on the TV, without needing to connect my laptop up.
