So, and ordered some PC5s, bloke in van turns up, and fits eco contacts, good job I checked.

Simple mix up I thought, the fitter said he must have picked up the wrong ones, so he called base, and and passes me his mobile phone. The chap on the other end said he would do the ecos for £75 a corner fitted. I wasn't confident this was competetive and i wanted the premiums, and so I was like, nah, I ordered the pc5 because that's what I decided Iwanted after quite a bit of research.

This is where I got suspicious, they guy on the phone was all "why do you think they are so much better? They are on the car now"
I became impatient at this point, and said because that's not what I ordered, take them off!
Then he said the premiums were not in Stock and would take 4 days. So I just said whatever, but I'm not paying for tyres I didn't order.

So the fitter put my old tyres back on and was a bit angry. Probably because he didn't get to pocket a few quid from the price difference... He even said, that it was the same tyre, and you'll get about the same mileage out of it, you he said, it's just a different rubber compound!

Not sure if he was trying to pull a fast one or if it was a genuine mistake, but if my tyre was out of stock, and I'm not sure why they would send someone out there with the a cheaper price alternative, and the invoice was also pre printed for the PC5s. And the higher price.

Anyway they say they can get me PC5s from Holland or Germany, or somewhere, but and fit them Friday.

Not sure I trust them now though. Rant over!

I'd not have paid for them either, unless my tyres were illegally bald, in which case I'd have been negotiating the price down to as low as I could get it (ie not accepting the first offer).

Still, doubt I'd use a company again if they had treated me in such a way.

Just get the ones you want from camskill and get them fitted locally!

I don't have any time for companies that try to make money out of their own mistakes!

Event was the company who sold me Michelins over the phone. I wasn't with the car when fitted, my partner was. They fitted some budget rubbish from Bulgaria and slithered out of it saying they were 'owned' by Michelin.

There was a thread on here about it, they fitted Kormoran. http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18230910&highlight=kormoran

Never use them again, they were thoroughly argumentative and unhelpful even when I said I would pay more to get them off the car. In my opinion they were lethal, thankfully they wore out in 2k.

I remember an email from a senior manager when I argued about Kormoran are a separate entity to Michelin. He answered 'I suppose you will tell me next Ferrari are not made by Fiat'. I had to giggle at that one, you can imagine the production line.

Camskill or blackcircles.

Get mine delivered to the garage of choice and booked all on the same website (Blackcircles do this, not sure if Camskill do).

That's the weird thing, the van was fully liveried up with 'event tyres'... Maybe it's a franchise, pretty narked really, I used etryres before and drove to a local garage and it was all good.

I feel that some people in Event tyres just think if it has the same name brand on it or they can fob you off as being the same you just will accept it.

Have you had previous experience? I I'm half tempted just to cancel on them and go elsewhere, butI tthis was the only company I could find that "allegedly" have PC5 in 205/55/16 at a sensible price...

What you will probably find is they get the customers in with a supposed good price on a quality tyre. They thank bank on most people being non motor literate, and proceed to fit the same brand but a lower spec tyre, pocketing the extra margin.

Call me a cynic, but that's pretty much my impression of the company!

I was considering using these guys. Might be tempted to see if E Tyres will price match and just use them instead.

I don't want to **** them off, and it may have been genuine errors, but to sell tyres you don't physically have in Stock is a bit fishy.
I was especially displeased when they tried to flog me the cheaper ones because they had already put them on the car.
