Slightly smaller cooler than a Tuniq Tower

Hi all,

I'm changing motherboards, and just realised that the back plate of my Tuniq Tower is stuck to the old motherboard, making moving it across a bit difficult! I'd take this as an opportunity to get a slightly smaller, as in less tall, CPU cooler.

My case is the Coolermaster Stacker, which has fans in the side door. The Tuniq Tower is so tall I have to remove the fan enclosures in the door to fit it in, so I'm after something slightly lower (or even a lot lower).

The Tuniq Tower was generally great, kept my CPU cool and was silent, everything I want really! So I'm after a recommendation of something a little less tall, that's all. I see the other popular ones (Noctua, TRUE) seem to be the same size or even a little taller!

Thanks in advance guys!

Edit: as a second thought, is it possible to buy those brackets that stick onto the back of the motherboard, separately?

Oh so if i heat it up, that thing will unstick and I can reuse it? I'd like to as no real plans for that motherboard right now!

Yeah definitely, mine was stuck solid and the heat from the hair dryer softened the glue a little, enough to get it off.

Just about anything is smaller than the Tuniq :P, the Freezer Pro ones would be highly recommended by me.

think i'll try the hairdryer, failing that look into a replacement bracket then look at the freezer pro.

thanks all!

After that, the Tuniq Tower doesn't fit on the EP45-UD3P because the cooling blocks next to the CPU interfere with its multi-socket bracket support thing! I guess i could cut the bits off to make it fit, but may as well get something else at this stage...

fwiw, the hairdryer thing did work quite easily, though it left half the residue on the old board. Really a bad design, sticking it to the motheboard like that.
