im after a slim 120mm fan 15mm-17mm thickness. i see the noctua one but its price is high for just a fan.
any recommendations for a cheaper alternative to the noctua? its got to have a decent bearing in it not a sleeve type thats gonna fail soon.

I think kaze flex slim is sleeve bearing so dont want that.
Any other options or am i gonna have to pony up for the noctua?

Think there's 15mm noctua in MM....

Anyone thought about the Silverstone slim fans? specifically the SST FN124 series, either Black or ARGB and the SST FW121. Both fans PWM enabled, between 800-2000rpm with a SP of around 1.52. Been contemplating them as an possible alternative to the Noctua's.. though now i know Arctic has a 15mm, may be tempted

I've used the Silverstone FW121 in my Ncase M1 build with dual rads, they were quiet and I never had issues with temps.

Arctic cooling just released a slim 120mm fan so thats the one im gonna go for since its around 6 quid.
Hopefully ocuk get it stocked

well in product suggestions ocuk said they will be selling them once they arrive so looks like im gonna be sorted on this. dont want to pay triple the price for a noctua.

Another vote for Arctic here.
At the moment using Pure Wings here, but wouldn't notice any issue going back for the P12.
The only point where noise would be an issue or any relevant difference would be at 70-100%.
Also where the fan is placed would affect how a fan sounds.
Let me try to explain better:
Running both the P12 and the Pure Wings 2 at same rpm (tested 50-75-100%), just loose, over the desk, the Pure Wings is much noisier. Not the fan, but the air moving, if it makes sense. The P12 is almost inaudible.
Running both at the bottom of the O11, which have quite a lot of metal, the Pure Wings is quieter, but both would be acceptable up to 40-45%, no more than that.
Same for the front of the case.
But unless the case is very limited, there won't be need to run your fans faster than 50%.
Some scenario, like my wind tunnel here (9 Pure Wings 2 120, 2 Pure Wings 80mm and 3 P12 from the AIO), increasing speed from 40% which is very quiet for my taste, to 50% won't bring any noticeable gains, only noise).

I got a section on the bottom of my case that can take a slim fan so thought may as well make use of it. Probably run the fan at around 800rpm

I pre-ordered some ARTIC P12 SLIM *elsewhere* about 3 weeks ago (they have been dispatched).

I’ll give you my opinion once they’re installed :)
