Slinky spring problem

Has anyone ever owned one of these and got it tangled to the point where the wire has got itself into a seemingly impossible tangle situation where you can see what is wrong with it, but it seems impossible to fix due to the way its tangled. But how did it get like that in the first place.....hmmmm.....

That won't work. Looking at its "tangle" I just can't understand how it got itself in that state, I mean, it must have somehow, but at the moment it is defying all laws of physics!
