nope, but now a few people have. Very painful and just hope it slipps back in without any damage. Otherwise that could be it for life.
Shouldn't take chances with backs.

Best of luck hope you get better soon.

My dad suffers from a slipped disk - well he has one that on occasion decides to move out of place just a fraction and it results in him being totally paralysed - often just having to stand still until it rights itself ... a very painful affliction.

I've on occasion felt very sharp pains in my spine from lifting things incorrectly and it's not something I wish on anyone.

Hope it does not take too long to heal , I slipped a disk around Christmas and it was agony for a few days ...even now I still seem to sensitive there.

One of my discs wasn't fused properly and it was slowly moving. :(

Apparenlty it had been like that since birth but I ddint have any pain from it until 2002. I actually noticed that was back was curved more than usual that year aswell.

Had to have an operation on my back to fuse it back together to the other bone.

Most pain ive ever been in.

I got a crushed disc in my back over christmas (from mountain biking). It sucked. But...... Painkillers I got from the doctor = awesome.

Pain vanished and I was high for hours at a time :D

hope it slips back into it's proper position soon Rotters.
I've never had a slipped disk, but have pulled my back a few times (usually lifting something light, or similar) and that is bad enough.

Ouch, sounds nasty Azza, hopefully its not giving you any jip anymore is it ?

I always try to assist my dad at home when possible as I hate seeing him out of action for days on end due to the disk nudging after a bad lift or what have you, he's always reminding me to lift with my legs not my back but I more often than not forget too :(

Some times it does just randomly hurt.

Stuff like lying down flat on my belly for 5 mins say does make it hurt... and for some reason doing the washing up it hurts while i do that.

Couple of years ago thought I had a lot of pain from it and the doctors where thinking of taking out the screws as they thought they may have been causing me the pain, but I did some physio first and that seemed to sort it out.

My Dad slipped his disk a few years ago, it got so bad he had to be rushed to hospital and have the disk cut off.

Hope it gets better, it's a nasty thing to have.

I have a prolapsed disc - I was in agony when I was 1st diagnosed with it, spent 3 hours in A&E. all the NHS doctor said was 'you have a prolapsed disc, heres a prescription for diclofornac, take them & you should be OK in a few days'

I now go to a Chiropractor & that helps, but the damage is now done - L5 spine worn out due to bad back posture when lifting heavy objects over the years :(

So look after your back folks!

im a nurse so i made sure i got the right cocktail of meds, diazepam, diclofenac and tramadol.

i slipped off a chair, yes sounds very stupid, but hey. the wheels made the chair flip out from underneath me i badly twisted my back. its activated RIDDOR and everything at work. loads of paperwork. plus going back to work involves moving at times very very heavy patients (safely of course)

im off to see an osteopath when the acute phase is over.

my gp just said if i mess myself or cant wee, then get into casualty pronto, luckily i knew what he meant but to a lay person he would have scared them to death

Im currently in agony aswell.

I have suffered from bad backs for about 2 years now.

only being 18 makes it suck soo much worse.

Im often on the floor in college doing stretches to help with the pain, and the pain killers i was given a little while ago dont help today.. (codine isnt any better than off the shelf ibuprofen)

and my mum isnt giving me any rest either, makeing me do a lot of picking up and lifting. and i also have to do that at work aswell (co-op)

but i make sure i lift properly eg, back straight, knees bent, and lift with the muscles in my legs. but i look like a t**t when doing that for a little drop.

Hope the pain eases for you and myself soon.

Not worth it for £5.61 an hour eh ;):p

I get random pains in my shoulder sometimes, been to the doctors before and they said I'd pulled my trapezius muscle but it's not been any better :(

Had a ruptured disc between L4 and L5. See a good Physiotherapist. Spent about £3000 over 3 years but its worth it.

Accident or just biking to much?

Hard to say really. It wasn't a specific accident that I was aware of, I just woke up one day with a back-ache that gradually got worse and became agony over the period of a week or so. After I went to the doctor it lasted for about a fortnight.

I was doing a lot of biking at the time, so it's just that it's the most likely cause.

Had my bike stolen since then, so haven't done much since my back problem :D
