Has anyone else had a slippery slope in the tech world?

It started off with me wanting to go ultrawide. So I settled on buying an ElectriQ monitor for like £350. I then searched around, Alienware had a sale and some stackable NHS discount which ended up with me getting the monitor of my dreams at the time for like £650 or maybe a bit more (can't remember exact prices now).

Anyway, after buying that, I saw a monitor called the Samsung CRG9 which looked mindblowing. So I bought that. I then felt I needed sound to couple it, so I bought 2x speakers (active). I sold the AW. The Samsung CRG9 got dead pixels, had 3 replacements, then I gave up and thought I'd try something else; so I tried an LG C9 55'' as a monitor.

In the mean time, I realised the audio from my Edifier speakers wasn't good enough so I bought a DAC, Amp and AKG 712s.

I realised the AKG 712s weren't good enough and that I preferred my subwoofer and speaker setup downstairs but I really liked the OLED 55''...

So I ended up returning the 55'' OLED and buying a 77'' OLED. Speakers wise,I appreciated my KEfs so much, I bought a new set of speakers. New new set of speakers invigorated my love for sound.. and now I'm reinvesting....

So... 12 months later.. My mind is now on a new subwoofer, a hoverboss, a power amplifier and a new projector.

it all started with a bargain £350 Electric Q monitor and ended with a big dent in my pocket.

Has anyone else had a similar slippery slope? Is this just an addiction to new gear?
