Back in the day I used to nlite (+ryanVM) my XP disk.

I would like to intergrate SP1 and tweak windows 7, but im out of the loop and there are quite a few programs to choose from.

Whats the best free one?

Know of any guides for this prog?

Thanks

just grab yourself an integrated SP1 ISO online. check the hashes match the MSDN releases and it's all good.

windows 7 doesn't need tweaking - plus it quite often breaks future windows updates if you do.

I did a stripped down Win 7 Install with SP1 slipstreamed with RT Se7en Lite and the install was a mess.

The trouble with stripping down Win 7, you need to know what you can remove, and what you can't remove. The last time I tried it, I cocked it up, and it would not even boot for me, so I don't even bother now.:D

I knew what to remove and not want to. it installed error free and booted fine but Windows Updates failed hardcore.

I only removed Games, Language Packs and other non essentials. Just not worth the hassle.

hmm im thinking u guys are right might not be worth the headache, ive tried nlite and slipstreaming before but you guys are right it can mess up windows installations later on down the road.

What I really wanted to do was create a Copy of Windows 7 with all May 2011 windows updates + SP1 already, and with all the drivers from driver packs preinstalled.

That way I dont need to install Sata/raid controllers and it finds every hdd possible, not to mention once its in desktop, hopefully device managers all drivers are already done:)

Perhaps ill stick with just loading the normal iso with latest SP and then manually installing drivers with driver packs or Driverautorun and autopatcher for updates....
