I have a problem with trying to boot from cd, I have just created a bootable slipstreamed cd of xp home upgrade, done everything, put on the xp files and the sp2 date, used nero 6 done all that, boot cd rom.

But whenever I set it to 'boot from cd' it will just stay on 'BOOT FROM CD' on the post screen.

Yeah, you can, you have to quicly insert a Win2000 pro, cd or something that it asks for, done it a million times.

But now ive actually made one myself it wont.

I'm not sure that that's legal- upgrade CD's were designed by Microsoft so you could NOT boot from them because the purpose of an upgrade CD is that you have already bought a legal copy of windows and have it running. Even though you do have windows 2000, microsoft have no way of knowing whether it is legal or not as you are only using it to get it to boot and don't need to enter a license key or anything and I doubt that this activity is legal ;)

Did you definatley extract Microsoft Corporation.img correctly? Try copying it into the XPCD folder as well as this is the file which makes the CD bootable :)

Nah, these days upgrade CDs are bootable and designed to ask you for a "previous version" of windows during the installation. It's totally legal assuming you own a previous version. It more relies on the honesty of the buyer. After all you could just get a totally pirated copy and not pay a thing.

How do i know if it has done it properly, or how do i do it, for clarity ?

I would say try the nlite method. It seems to be the most tried and tested method on these forums. I know from experience that manually creating bootable CDs in nero can go wrong even if you follow the instructions to a T.
