Tape library nightmare!
I've got a Quantum Valueloader DLT VS80 which is causing me quite a few headaches, its very temperamental and today has really started acting stupid whereby it thinks there is a tape in slot 1 when there isn't, If I try and load from slot 1 I get an error A3 which is related to not being able to pick the tape (funny that).
I've tried to unload slot 1 which brings it round, opens the door and then spits out nothing but it still thinks there is something in there so I'm wondering, how does the loader know there is a tape in the drive? Is there a little button/catch which might be causing this problem.
Once the budget is unfrozen I will be enquiring about an LTO drive but for the time being I'm stuck with this POS
