Slow ADSL Max

We had ADSL Max put into the office a couple of week ago and, despite the exchange being about half a mile away (as the crow flies, have no idea on line length), we're still only getting about 3Mb. The router is reporting these line stats:

Noise margin: 19dB (down), 26dB (up)
Attenuation: 14.4dB (down), 6.5dB (up)
Output power: 15.7 dBm (down), 12dBm (up)

I have no idea how to read these figures so could anyone in the know tell me if 3Mb is the most we can resonably expect from this line or whether we should be getting more?

You should be getting more than 3MB with those stats.

Run the BT speed test and tell us what it says:

What is the router actually connected at?

I tried the tester earlier but as soon as I put the phone number in it just hangs at the "checking user..." stage.

The router only shows the 8192/448 but this is surely just the sync rate rather than the real connection speed, isn't it?

Sometimes the BT Speedtest is too busy and can take ages.
