Hi, Just rebuild my system with the Gigabyte Kryton Z68 & intel i5 and 4 gig ram.

My old Q6600 4 gig ddr2 and Asrock system would boot in 2 mis 40 secs. My new system on a clean Win 7 install takes 5.03 and half the software from my previous setup isn't even installed yet? It also just seems real slow at everything, any help before I phone the tech guys. I haven't touched the O/C settings just installed the drivers from the MB CD.

Set to IDE, when I switch the bios to AHCI it went crazy, ended with a message saying something like 'no boot info' press ctrl, alt, del. What should in be on for a normal SATA drive, IDE or AHCI?

For a normal harddrive, it doesn't really matter.

If there are any Gigabyte software that came with the motherboard disk, uninstall them. They could be slowing down the boot.

Thanks for all you help guys, got it sorted. I used msconfig tools and turning off all devices and then one by one switching them on again and re-booting. Found the culprit to be my anti virus installation was corrupted. UN-installed Bullguard and then re installed. Boot has gone from 5:24 down to a respectable 2:27.
