Hi guys,

I wonder if you can help with this strange problem…
I’ve posted on a few forums but without luck so far.
I know there are some very clued up peeps on here so here goes. :)

Any window, IE the window you get from double clicking my computer or a program such as winamp or a web browser window etc, If you hover the window over any desktop Icon (Mainly using PNG’s)
From Avedesk and Object dock free edition, it drags and looks like it drops to about 3 FPS with lots of tearing. As soon as you’re of the icons it’s back to normal with no jerkiness or anything just moving the window around on the desktop screen picture not actually over a icon of any kind.

Now this makes things that are full screen open and close really slowly as when you maximise them they naturally go on top of the icon, which in return slows the window down.

This is rather difficult to explain but hopefully somebody will understand what I am trying to get across.
Thanks for any help on this one. :)

You also may want to know, I have a setup here at work which is using an GFX nVidia card and it's not doing it on that system. Do ATI have some kind of re-draw problem at all?

sounds like the comp is having trouble redrawing the screen when the window is moved. I have only expreiance this on comps with 256mb of ram and under especialy running avedesk and OD. as they need more room to breath than explorer does.

1024 dual chan OCZ Ram in my shuttle and system is taken really good care of.
Not much stuff installed on it and I'm very carefull of what goes on there.

No, not not been there I'll do that now. It is the same on Object dock it seems anything icon or PNG related. Which is a bit odd... I wonder if it's a driver bug on the last few versions from ATI Cat's and Omega.

Hmm installed the latest drivers from Omega. playing about it seems when I my desktop wall paper to "none" the problem goes away... When I put a wall paper on, even some of the default Microsoft ones the problem comes back.
Any idea's?
