So, today I installed my new wireless hardware.. A job I have been dodging for years, as I'd much prefer to stick to a wired connection. However, I can't.
When I tested some speeds earlier I was hitting my standard ~500kb/sec download speeds, however I now seem to be capping out at around 200kb/sec. Is there any way I can find out why this is/change it?
According to the terrible software that came packaged with my Edimax wireless pci adapter, I am currently getting 'Normal' signal, or 50-52%.
Is this what is causing my slow download speeds, or could it be more to do with some router settings?
I have no idea how it works, but I would have thought if a wireless card was connected to my router that claims to do 300mbps at 50% effeciency, it could easily transmit way above a 500kb/sec download?
If it matters..
