Who else has any of this ready for Xmas? My mum made a load so gave me a small bottle. Just having a glass of it now and sooooooo nice.

So did mine!

I never had the chance to taste it though.

He had a rack in his garage with over 100 bottles of home made wine and liquers etc in it. :cool:

Now I remember it, I'm glad he gave it up before I became interested in booze, else I'd be dead by now!

Never tried it, My mates have just made some, but It wont be ready till next x-mas, So looks like I have another year to wait till I try some. Although they're bringing a few different flavoured whiskeys for Christmas this year.

Hardly a pansy drink, not like it's 1% of anything.
We sell a load of it at the bar around Christmas. 66p a 25ml shot.

When I was young I used to go sloe collecting with my Mum to make sloe Gin. I was a bit young for tasting the fruits (lolz) of my labours at the time though. And now she hasn't made any for years

only problem with sloe gin is getting the berries in the first place.plants are few and far between in some areas.

Nope, the only illegal act I think is making things like moonshine, as for why it's illegal no idea, dangares of distilling maybe?

moonshine is generally illegal because the moonshiners dont pay taxes on the alcohol

I think it's only illegal if you make the alcohol from scratch, isn't sloe gin just adding berries to the already made alcohol to change it's flavour?
