Hi all

Last night I got my system up and running and Installed Steam, My internet download speed has always been alright but for some reason has slowed down a lot, When I've previously installed PUBG or ETS2 it would take around 2-4 Hours, However upon clicking the install PUBG button its saying 22 Hours for download

We have had a bit of a shuffle around in the house, The wifi box is now under the bed, Could that play a factor in this?

I have a wifi adaptor in my USB port on my PC and its always at full signal strength

Cheers

If I remember rightly steam isn't a reliable method of testing speed as they throttle quite a lot of traffic. Or at least lots of people moan about it.

What did you get on a sync/speed test previous compared to now?

Having your wireless enclosed in any area will degrade coverage. Signal meter on windows was never known for its accuracy. Download something like WiFi analyser on your mobile and walk around your house, 0 to - 60 is generally okay (closer to 0 = better) above -70 is going to be causing issues.

Ive never done a sync/speed test before not sure how to... Just downloaded the app and it reads as 35 where the wifi box is and 68 where my pc is

1: Run a cable, test speed, establish actual line speed.
2: Repeat above with Wi-Fi.
3: Move ‘Wi-Fi box’ to a less illogical location.
