Slow internet for O2/BE tonight?

Then you've got a line fault m8 i.e. it's an unrelated issue. There were no back-end issues last night with linx congestion.

Mine seems to working fine now, ping to bbc.co.uk is 15-20ms and modem has sync to 5.4mb and is normal due to the distance to my local exchange.

Yeah BE has been really weak lately. I'm switching asap.

You do realise that this was an issue with akamai and not Be right? Switching isp will only lock you into another contract. They shift ~1/5 of the worlds traffic (they were solely responsible for delivering the world cup) so switching isps to escape them is utterly futile.

Be/O2s communication has been poor, but still better than most. Now Tiscali, there was something truly dire :p

My pings are back to 9ms on bbc.co.uk now...

small hitch in 4 years of pretty much perfect service... I'm not too bothered

pings to multiplay.co.uk and game servers.

But pings to bbc.co.uk are 120ms pings to other various sites are high and my speedtests are at half speed.

Aye, its back tonight, but Bes network status has read

Dear Members, Currently one of our peering links is down which results to higher traffic for some of the other major links we have. You might notice slow browsing and slow downloads especially during peak hours to specific sites and servers, like bbc.co.uk. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

since last week. Not sure why o2 removed their notice.

I'm becoming very sceptical of O2/BE, ever since O2 introduced their new fair use policy when nobody on LLU was even having problems there's been nothing but problems.

Poor Pings, speeds and several of the main file hosting sites not working.
Previously problems were fixed within hours now were looking at weeks.

I just feel they are cost cutting by not fixing stuff and letting the service decline to a level where large down loaders and games are no longer wanted.

What I am confused by, is how BE said they felt it was pretty much all fixed the other day, when it got better for a brief moment, but clearly the continuation of the problem says otherwise.
