My mate is a student in Birmingham living in the Selly Oak area. He's supposedly on a 40Mbps Virgin internet package but his speed is more around 2-3Mbps average with pockets of more acceptable speeds, presumably because of high load on the network?
If it is a demand problem, would changing providers help? My thinking is that as long as your internet is coming from the same exchange then all the providers will be having the same connection speed problems?
