Hi all

My internet is not known to be lightning quick. BT say I'm lucky to get 1Mb but I'm doing well at just under 2.5Mb! Woo!

I've been sync'd at this speed stable for some time now, and I've just stuck Windows 7 on my PC. However, internet pages in various browsers (IE, FireFox or Opera) are really slow to load. Yet if I download something from the net I get ~180KB/s download speed.

Is there anything I can do/check? I keep hearing about OpenDNS, will this be beneficial? What does it involve?

Thanks for any suggestions, just weird how I'm connected quick and can download but webpages need 2-3 refreshes.

:)

It would be worth changing your DNS settings to see if this is the cause.

What router do you have?

Thanks, do you know if I'll have any problems with say, OpenDNS and using uTorrent. ;)

I have a DrayTek Vigor 2710n and it's using the latest firmware direct from DrayTek (they emailed it to me). :)

I connect to the Router via Cisco Powerline Plugs (200Mb).

Change your DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.2.2, there are no problems with torrents on google/opendns as it's a peer 2 peer network using ip's which doesn't use dns.

OK, so apparently OpenDNS is the quickest for me. So I created a free account and stuck the two IP addresses into my Router and did the test on the site after flushing my dns cache, and it says "success I'm using OpenDNS".

Is that all I need to do? :D Thanks for the help!
