Slow loading on WMP11 startup

Every single time I open up WMP11 for the first time, it takes forever to load up fully. This includes listing all of my tracks/artists.

Players I've used in the past, like foobar, don't require this "load up" time at the beginning, I just open it up and everything is already there.

Is there a reason WMP11 needs to do this each time or is it just another sub-par bit of software from microsoft?

Hiya,

Try going when wmp11 is open to the top bar and goto Tools/Options and uncheck what's not required

I do notice a slowdown but not a severe one really, My opening to seeing what i want is maybe 2secs maybe 3secs at tops

Also i use amongst others a great free M$ tool called Autoruns, Google for it and try it, Not a bad piece of sw really for what it is
