Slow loading taskbar

I installed WMP 64 bit earlier and after rebooting after the install I'd log on and my taskbar would take around a minute or two to load up. There would also be no desktop icons. I could still ctrl+alt+delete and open applications using task manager even though the taskbar wasn't there. What's going on?

Hmm, try right click the task bar, go to Toolbars and untick Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player isn't in the toolbars list.
