I seem to be getting slow transfers from my NAS to my MBP but they are fine from my MBP to my NAS.

My NAS is connected by Gigabit Ethernet to my router and my MBP is connected wireless to my router using Wireless-N.

I thought it might have been a problem after installing a new hard drive and reinstall OS X but I put the old hard drive in that still had my previous install of OS X on and I still had the same problem. I don't know where its all gone wrong. Nothings been updated on my NAS.

Anyone any ideas, cheers.

Did you try flow control on the NAS? If it doesn't support it then you could also try connecting it via a 100Mb switch before the router. I know it sounds counter-intuitive for the NAS to be on a slower link, but it really can help in some situations.

Change the speed and duplex settings on the NAS and router if possible. Try changing the settings to 1000/Full or Auto/Auto.

No settings on the NAS other than Jumbo Frames. Just connected the NAS directly to my router as it was connected to a switch before the router and the speeds are fine. Looks like a possible problem with my switch. Anyway to test my switch at all?? its just a dumb netgear 5 port gigabit switch.

Have you tried another cable from the NAS to the router?

I had a similar problems a while back between my server and PC. Replaced the desktop -> switch cable and it was the same. Swapped the server -> switch cable and problems solved.
