Slow Post after installing Graphics Card

I have an oldish Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 motherboard which i have just purchased a XFX ATI Radeon HD 5670 512MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card for. And it seems to slow the post down by about 10-15 seconds before anything is displayed on the screen .When i remove the card and use the onboard graphics it is instant .

The card seems to work fine and runs and works under windows 7 its just the slow post that is annoying . Never had a PCI-Express card before in my own system so was wondering if this is the norm

Try to disable the onboard in the BIOS.

Tried that as still no difference also tried the latest bios for the motherboard. Maybe its time for a new motherboard as run out of sata ports on this one anyway. As i always have ASUS boards think its time to look for another AM2 board

Oops made a mistake and did'nt install lastest motherboard bios as i thought . Re-flashed and issue resolved.

glad you got it sorted. Those 5670 seem to be very fussy - I ended up having to buy a new MB just to run mine. Did exactly the same - bios didn't fix it.
