slow post?

Hi Guys.

Looking for a pointer here,

i have an Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 with an i7 and 16gb of ram, ssd c:drive / ati hd5700,

the machine sees all the ram..

It has always been really fast at booting but i rebooted it tonight and now it takes over three minutes before it will post? then boots windows?

now ive been using pcs for a long time and this has got me stumped,

I have removed all of the ram and booted and it did what it was supposed to do, ie didnt work

i have reset the cmos with the jumpers and its still the same. (havent removed the battery(

its really weird as it used to go from running to rebooted in < 1 min,

I have been clearing a malware today that i have got rid of but this is pre post? very odd.

the machine is currently down to 1 cd drive and the ram and the ssd hd / processor and is still the same.

gonna upgrade the bios to see if that helps,

Please ask questions and give pointers cos this is about to eat up my weekend!!

flashed bios .... no change

pulled all connections from the back and went to bare essentials removing usb and voila

boot time back to < 30 secs all sorted

there goes 3 hours of my life i wont get back
But ...... all sorted .... phew

back to clicking round my 3 favorite websites ...
