Heres what we have, BT broadband with BT Voyager wireless adsl modem/router, desktop pc with wireless card, with a Epson printer attached. Laptop with wireless network card (all devices 802.11g)

File sharing works fine, when printing from the laptop to the printer attached to the desktop, the only way it will print is if in the Advanced Properties of the printer settings (settings accessed from the desktop pc) "print direct to printer" box is checked..........but it takes a minute or so before it starts to print, even for a half page document or the printers test page. Is this normal?

If we select for the printer to spool, it justs sits in the print queue at about 95% complete and stays there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

John

It's not normal - or at least it's not the case here.

Could it be an issue with the printer's drivers? That is, try another printer (if you can).

Its a brand new printer with the latest Epson XP drivers (on a USB port)
