Hi all,

I have the 120Mb Virgin Media broadband which hits speeds of 120Meg when tested on my wired PC but all my wireless computers only seem to max out at 30meg, This is using speedtest.net and going through the VM superhub thing.

Any idea's on how to speed the Wireless up? is it even possible?

Thanks

Do what unleashed said.

But that's the nature of wifi I'm afraid. Personally, I'd only use it for light/mobile browsing.

Download inSSIDer and check which channels are in use nearby and choose one which gives you the best separation.

Done this, messed around with different channels and still exactly the same wifi speeds, looks like I will have to put up with it. Kind of makes 120meg pointless :(

What are the limits on the WiFi chips in the three devices you use, can you put a wire into the laptop and see if it performs the same?

Have you tried turning off QoS (or WMM it's called sometimes).

Andi.

Superhub WiFi is a load of nonsense. I used to get 20-30 at most on my Superhub, plugged an old Dlink in and I'm now enjoying 60-70Mb/s over WiFi.

Call them up and tell them to do something.
