slow ssd or motherboard problems

I have the GB z87x-oc and mushkin chronos 120gb ssd. I've noticed that a lot of people who have installed windows 8.1 can boot into desktop in as little as 7 or 8 seconds but about 15 seems to be average.

With my system it takes about 30 seconds to load into W8.1 desktop but even then its still doing stuff in the background. You can tell as if I try to start a program I get the spinning busy sign.

I'm going on the assumption that installing a new ssd is completely diferent to installing a normal mechanical drive? If so does anyone know a good guide to installing an ssd

Load as ssd benchmark and post screenshot,don't run the test just load it

Also run atto benchmark and post screen of that

Also ensure that your SSD has the latest firmware installed on your SSD as Z87 doesn't seem to like sandforce contollers.

Are you running the drive in an Intel sata6 port or a marvell sata6

I shall post some pics in the morning. I don't know if its intel or marvel however on my motherboard its in port 0 if that's of any help whatsoever

speeds look ok to me

idk if your properly aligned,looks a bit large to me the 359424 but its says its ok

when you format the drive you can select 4096mb that's 4k aligned

that board has all intel sata ports I think,maybe latest bios or beta bios would help? idk

Thnx for reply I just updated the bios yesterday to f8. Possibly I'm being picky and expecting too much from the ssd idk
