Slow start Win7 - new issue

Hi,

Over the past few weeks I've noticed Win7 is slow to start where before it was 10-15s to desktop. Now it's almost a minute.

Win7 64bit
i7 6700k
16GB
Samsung Evo SSD (166GB available)

I can't remember when it specifically started to happen but I would say around two weeks ago. I've checked for malware and software added but nothing.

Event viewer fixes do nothing.

Msconfig changes like disabling all non Windows still makes slow boot.

Any ideas or help please?

I would:

• Check the system page (virtual memory) file to see if it's ludicrously large (or just disable it completely)
• Check for intensive system-level processes like Windows Defender running a real-time scan at every boot
• Disable system restore (temporarily) to see if it's attempting to record a restore point for some reason
• If it's slow after the actual login screen (i.e. after the BIOS, in Windows space) launch "procmon.exe" which will let you see what's actually happening

Edit: you don't specify WHEN it's slow. Is it slow to get out of the BIOS or during/after the Windows startup screen?
