Slow Steam D/L despite Fibre BB!!

I have a typical Fibre BB D/L speed of 37+Mb/s with Sky (U/L is 10Mb/s BTW) (as per speedtest.net)

My current speed whilst D/L a new purchase through Steam is 4.7Mb/s

Now, granted I am a bit of a noob at these things.... does this sound about right? What could account for the difference if this does not sound correct?

37mb connect is 4.65MB/s
so that's spot on full speed

yep theres a difference between Mbps and MBps...

I can never remember which way round they are - but one is an 1/8th of the other.

So if you're connect at 37Mbps then your actual download speed will be 37/8 which is 4.625MBps

So you're doing pretty well downloading at 4.7

Mbps is megabits per second which is wat isp's measure in

MBps = megabytes per second

4.7MB/s is the same as 37.6Mb/s, so it's maxing out your connection and a little more.

Just remember to multiply your speed in bytes by eight to get your speed in bits.
