Slow Steam Downloads

Not sure if it belongs here or gaming section however here goes!

Being a Virgin Media customer I guess its related to that somehow however

I know I get the full 120meg on other downloads (ie gamershell etc!)

now with Steam it doesnt matter what time of the day it is what server I use at best I might get near 4MB/s and I do expect a fair chunk more? :confused:

im having same problems since my super hub had a firmware upgrade it seems :/

What protocol do they use for Steam downloads? reckon they could be traffic shaping? Try changing ports / use a UK based VPN to give it a test.

No problems here, installed ARMA 3 this afternoon in 8 minutes at 11-12 MB/s

Identical fella - they dont shape steam downloads that I know for sure I used to get full speed so!
