Hi guys

Im new to the "networking and internet connectivity" forum and the search button didnt seem to find any results.

I've had an issue with my connection for months now, and Im only just getting round to looking into it. The problem seems to be a really laggy connection, but most unusual is the time it takes my 125mb Belkin Router to gain connection to the ADSL line.

Whenever I've set up internet connections with routers, the ADSL connection light finds the line within 20-30 seconds (usually even faster) Mine however can flash for up to 3/4 minutes, never seeming to lock onto the line.

I've used 3 different routers so far; Netgear DG 834, Belkin F5D7633UK4A, and a D-link, all suffer the same issue. The only way I finally gain a connection is to keep removing and adding the power connector.

My download speeds are weird also. If I'm downloading from say Microsoft updates I'll get 246-254k max. If Im downloading using P2P (not pirate) I'll never see over 15-20k ever, no matter how i set it up.

My stats are below:

Down Up
Data rate
2272 288

Noise margin
19.4 28.0

Output power
19.5 11.9

Attenuation
37.5 31.5

Im with F2s

Anyone any ideas?? BT reports no faults on the line

Thanks

The P2P speeds are most likely F2S' traffic shaping.

As for the time to sync up, pass. Would've suggested marginal line, but your SNR margin is more than high enough.

as above, only other thing i can think of is to do with the chipset of the router/modem, but you've tried 3!!
