Slow upload speed through ftp client

Hi guys,

I am getting incredibly slow upload speeds (a couple of kb/s) using cyberduck ftp client in OSX 10.4. However, if I upload files through the web page file browser interface on my web server (Im with tsohost) then it goes quick-as. I also tried Transmit and its just as slow.

Should I be opening some specific ports on my router or something? Any advise would be great.

Who's your ISP ? Passive or Active FTP session ?

ISP is bulldog. Ive tried both types of ftp session and it doesnt seem to make any difference.

Forward 20 and 21 and run pasv, also as you have a router can you test transfers on another computer and confirm the same results ?
