Slow upload speeds!

I'm on the Blueyonder 2mb connection and since Friday last week I've been getting very poor speeds, in particular the upload which seems to be crippled down to 30kbps during the day and at most 90kbps during the night; it should be 256kbps! Something similiar happened a while ago where the connection slowly grinded to a halt and eventually cut out altogether only to come back to full speed moments later, I didn't think much of it at the time and so ignored it as a one off connection issue, but since then I've been getting loads of congestion lag during the day and now theses horrid upload speeds!

Are any other Blueyonder users here getting connection problems? Any ideas how it can be solved? :(

Where abouts are you mate?

In yate we had something quite bad happen last weekend, in that our modem just shut itself off  The past week our router has not been able to hold a connection for more than 3 hours :( A firmware upgrade of the router to DD-WRT micro *seems* to have rectified this

On Saturday Telewest tried to upgrade my TVDrive and that just grinded to a halt and didn't move for 8 hours!

I'm blaming it all on the gremlins! Evil little buggers lol :p

I'm in Birmingham and tbh this has rarely happened ever before. The only thing I can think of is that recently I downgraded the connection from 4mb to 2mb and I'm thinking this may have something to do with it. That said, I did get connection drop outs whilst I was on the 4mb service too, but the speeds were otherwise tip top. Gonna phone them up and see what they say.

Well its returned to normal now, though I'm still getting high pings which is a pain in the ****, especially in BF2. What worries me most though is that I get the distinct feeling Telewest are secretly capping peoples speeds. Prior to these slowdowns I was maxing out my upload for a few days and I'm just wondering what if they capped it due to high usage?

Think I'll max out the connection for another few days and see what they do. :)
