Slow USB stick Transfer Rate?

I bought a 16gb kingston data traveler memory stick, but transfer rates are so slow still, copying over a 4gb MKV file from my 128gb SSD to the mem stick starts fast then gradually slows down to only 3mb transfer speed!, using the USB 3 port, any ideas?

got the usb 3 drivers installed correctly?
is the stick genuine?
usb 3 port is connected to a usb 3 header on the mobo (if its a case port)

try another usb 3 port.

I'm not sure if USB 3 drivers installed correctly, I think they are? how can I check?, yeh its from amazon, like thousands of 4-5 star reviews, I'll try a different USB 3 port, its the Z77 - D3H gigabyte motherboard by the way.
