I have got Vista preimum edition(32bit) and it seems that the system clock is slowing down?

So basically everytime I use the computer, it seems to lose 1 minute, which overtime adds up everytime I use the computer from day to day. To correct this, I have to manually correct the time. This bugs me!

Don't think its the CMOS battery.

any ideas?

Vista'll get it's time off the BIOS, so I doubt it's Vista related.

Synching with an internet time source might be a good idea.

its nothing to do with the clock going back recently. Its just seems to lose few seconds everytime the computer is shut down? so next time I use the computer, the time is not accurate depending on how long the computer was last used.

I can't link to other sites due to forum rules but if you input "slow system clock vista" into google, you will see a better description of my problem. Can't seem to find a solution.

Did the google search you suggested. Looks like a very dodgy problem.
I'm using Vista Ultimate 64bit at the moment...can't say I'm getting any issues. Very strange!

ShakenNstirred, if your clock has changed by 2 hours, it may be because you have incorrectly set your preferences in windows regional settings. Various places around the world have a 2 hour change for daylight savings  Take a look in regional settings in control panel...you may have left it on USA (default).

hmm, I go back on what I said. Vista has reset my clock but 2hrs as well, and I've checked all the settings. Another strange bug. Oh well, I'm sure MS already have a patch on its way :)

i checked that as soon as i seen it had gone back 2hrs, it was set right.
from what i could see everything was set as it sould be, so i dont know what made it do that

Try changing the internet time server to this...
1.uk.pool.ntp.org

I find it far more reliable than the default ones.
