I've just upgraded my system:

MSI Z170A Gaming M5 Intel Z170
i7 6700k @ stock
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit
500gb Cruclial MX200 (taken from old system)
2tb HDD
Custom Water cooled

I've noticed that Windows 10 takes a lot longer to load than my older system. About 20 seconds.

I've been through start up in config and disabled everything and checked that AHCI is active .

Anyone had a similar problem?

This was a clean install of Windows straight from their download centre, whereas my previous installation was from the upgrade.

edit.. looking at the Event viewer, there is an the following error:

The Sync Host_Session1 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 10000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

I'm wondering if this is the cause.. that it's trying to sync with One Drive?

Thanks

ok since then i've checked a number of things;

1.Flashed the bios to latest version.

2. When looking at MSINFO32, the system is in Legacy mode. THis was how it was on the old system anyway.. i don't see why this would be a problem.

3. Checked to make sure the SSD is ok.. SSD life.

4. Disabled One Drive services.

No joy

Very odd.. Problem disappeared.. My guess is that windows was performing a number of "behind the scenes" updates that i didn't get when i upgraded from 7 to 10..

one more thing to check is did you have the 2tb HDD connected when you installed windows? sometimes windows has a habit of storing the MBR on the HDD and not the SSD which can cause slow boots.

if you disconnect the HDD you may find the PC will not boot.

It is something that I've had before with Windows on someone's computer. It might have been something to do with Windows Update (not sure though), just thought it might help, despite being a bit of a long shot. :)

It was probably finding drivers and other updates as you say.
