Slow XP Logon?

Hey,

Well basically my problem is in the title, I've had this problem since day 1.. my system isn't a poor spec. So I have no clue of what is wrong...

You mean it takes long to boot? How long are you talking?

It's when I logon onto my account, it takes a good few minutes..

Going to need some more info...what have you got installed? how many things do you have that startup? Do other profiles take a long time to login?

Are you logging into a standalone machine or are you logging into a Windows domain on a network?

If you are logging into a domain, the usual cause of slow logins is a DNS issue. Check you have the correct DNS server(s) configured in your network settings.
