I have just upgraged form a 5770 to a 7850 and got a good increase in performance but shutdown now takes an extra 20 seconds is this normal?
 
Don't suppose you have plugged in a USB hard drive have you?

I put a 500gb external into my PC and it takes ages to shut down now.
 
Did you uninstall the drivers and sweep the remnants of the drivers off your system first??

You may find uninstall > Driver Sweeper or CCleaner > Install drivers may fix it.

Yes uninstalled the amd drivers in progs and features rebooted then driver sweeper rebooted then new driver installed

No usb drive
